The OUP

Assalamualaikum

Selamat Sejahtera

The OSC Exam

In the sixties the Overseas School Certificate (OSC) exam papers were printed and marked in England.

Form five students in Malaysian schools sitting for the examination had to answer in English for all subjects except Bahasa and other vernacular languages.

Oxford University Press (OUP) and the Cambridge University Press were the two university printers involved.

These were highly guarded security areas then. Outsiders allowed into the premises can actually be finger counted.

At d Press

was privileged to have visited the press at Oxford in the eighties. Printing and marking of the above exam papers in England ceased when our very own examinations syndicate (Lembaga Peperiksaan Malaysia) came into existence and took over operations in later years.
