Hail King Paul!

Assalamualaikum and Greetings

Curtains: 2010 World Cup Finals

By God's will, you are the undisputed 'No. 1 Fauna' in this particular field of prediction. At least as far as the 2010 World Cup Finals is concern! After the final whistle in the match between Spain and Holland this morning Paul showed that he is no ordinary octopus. 8 out of 8. That's no easy task. Congratulations!

And , congrats too to the Spanish squad for living up to Paul's prediction! The Spaniards 1 - 0 win over the Dutch squad was well-deserved. First time finalist and champion to boot. They played their hearts out. They were worthy winners. Sorry to the Netherlands. Better luck next time after being third time unlucky!

That's the 2010 World Cup fever over. It will soon be 'quiet' and that will last for quite a while. Most of us will miss the excitement that prevails over the last one month. We will have to wait another four years to perhaps experience another sensation such as this. So till we meet again at football crazy nation Brazil in 2014 . . . . . once more Viva Espana and Long Live King Paul.

And to the rest of the contenders for the prediction crown . . . the parakeets, the crocs, the chimpanzees . . . the what not, wherever they may originate from . . . I only have this to comment . . . Try some other field! One Paul is enough!

Just One Final Fling

Assalamualaikum and Greetings

Still On With d Attraction

Yes . . . once again Paul (needs no introduction by now) predicted precisely. Perhaps Germany's prowess added the impetus to establish the impact of Paul's prediction! Uruguay was a sad beaten lot and an unlucky 2-3 loser in the play-off for 3rd and 4th place last Sunday July 11, 2010. Germany must be delighted with their squad's performance . . . and, Paul must be pleased with his achievement to date in the 2010 World Cup saga . . . 7 out of 7, full marks
!

But . . . as mentioned in an earlier column in this blog, Paul was usually at hand to predict exclusively (only) on Germany's matches. And, so far as this is concern, he has done extremely well. Paul must however be extra sharp now for the final game this Monday July 12, 2010 at Johannesburg. This match will not involve the German squad at all! And, to make matters worse, there are now new contenders for top spot in the prediction business. They now come from all parts of the world. Singapore, Australia, Europe and other places unique. A world cup in its own class!

All things said, Paul must be accurate in his final prediction. He must live up to his billing! There will be hundreds of thousands of people watching Paul closely. You must not slip Paul. You must aim for perfection after all the hard work you've been through.

Paul must be made aware that the parakeet from Singapore (now there's d crocs and d chimpanzees an d what not from every where) has chosen the Netherlands to win. So, Paul you must not fail your fans and supporters! Proof that you are the undisputed No. 1 in this prediction business . . . or in the olden days (the Roman Emperor's era) . . . , the 'sooth-saying' business.

Whatever the reasons, Paul has to be successful in maintaining his achievement to date. And, most of all Paul must be accurate in this final test for this simple reason . . . yours sincerely have also chosen Spain to be the 2010 World Cup champion (Assurance: no monetary gains involved at all!)

Just . . . Viva Espana, as the supporters say!

The Excitement Continues

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Assalamualaikum and Greetings

What now Paul?

At the beginning reliable sources state that Paul (the now renown psychic octopus) will only predict matches that involved the German squad in the on-going World Cup finals. The sporting public was made to understand the same to be true. But, today Oracle Paul sprung a surprise to people around the world. He has chosen the eventual champion for the World Cup this time around. Paul chose Spain over the Netherlands in the final to be played on Monday 12 July 2010!

What have the Dutch to say. What can be said. Paul has chosen. Well, Paul can also go wrong! What then have the Spaniards to say. What can be said. Paul has chosen. Well, Paul has proven on earlier occasions that he can always be right!

And, on the play-off for 3rd and 4th placing between Germany and Uruguay, this Sunday 11 July 2010, Paul predicted a German victory. A prediction supporting his own nation! Is Paul trying to make amends? God knows!

Whatever the outcome you have nothing to fear, Paul. Many winners (the squad, the betting public, hardcore gamblers and others) will be on your side. You are already very glamorous in the eyes of football fans all over the globe. The bias, the partisan, the neutrals, the supporters, the pros and the cons, the professionals and the amateurs et ce'tera, etce'tera will all be rooting for you.

But, what with the losers . . . especially those big time BOOKIES! Won't they be after your skin, hide or rather tentacles! No worry. It is now common knowledge that Paul's keepers will be paying extra attention to him. Obviously they will be taking extremely greater care of him all the time.

His safety has been assured as announced in the local dailies! And, there are of course others who are ever willing to give any kind of assistance to ensure Paul's well-being . . .those whose side Paul seems to be on!

Anyway, should anything go wrong (either way) with Paul's prediction, the consolation to supporters of both camps, d Matadors and d Oranje, will at least be the fact that a new World Cup champion has arrived, a first-timer has emerged!

From all football fans, many thanks to you Paul for making this 2010 World Cup finals a colourful one. And, from yours sincerely . . . a special thank you also to this psychic octopus. Simply because you chose Spain to be victorious. And, simply because yours sincerely is also predicting a victory for d Matador squad . . . by a 3-2 margin!

But, yours sincerely is a non-psychic power person . . . And, nobody is . . . interested to go after his skin!

PS:

... and suddenly there are others also trying to get into the limelight ... trying to equal if not overshadow Paul's feat ...
