When Old Friends Meet



The scene : 
At one Community Centre

The place : 
Sungai Buloh, Klang, Selangor

The event : 
A wedding reception

The wedded couple: 
Kamil Azahar Othman and Azian Abdul Kadir

It was Sunday, 24 November 2013.  A large crowd had gathered at the local community centre since midday.

A wedding reception was on going at the hall there.

Yours sincerely was among the guests invited to grace the event.

The bridegroom, Kamil Azahar Othman and the bride, Azian Abdul Kadir were the newly married couple.

Kamil and Azian looked very happy . . . and, yes indeed . . . they should be. Everyone present were very happy for them too.

Well . . . so much for the couple's special occasion.

What turned out to be the surprise and extra joy for me was meeting old friends . . . former colleagues and office mates . . . there at Kamil's wedding.

Kamil was an ex-office mate of mine. I had known him since the early eighties.

We were together serving a renown publishing house  then . . .  OUP/PFB , until the time most of us either left to pursue new avenues or went on retirement.

It has been almost 14 years now since yours sincerely retired from work at the Press. 

Truthfully speaking, I have had no opportunity to meet up with old OUP/PFB friends for that long a period of time too.

But . . . on Kamil's auspicious day . . . the ever dramatic 'missing you missing me' spell seemed to have been broken!

Today . . . old friends had gathered and had savoured every moment of the meeting.

(. . . d TV programme "Kilauan Emas" is for singing only. Should there be a "Kilauan Emas" competition for dancing, you must enter Chris. Sure win one . . . )

( but then . . . d ex-queen of "West Side Story" fame is here also . . . talk with respect, man . . . hehe)

Whatever was the case . . . I appreciated very much the meeting with all of you . . . friends close to my heart.

One For The Road

And . . . last but not least a big thank you to Chom (Kesuma @ KAO clan) for being a very hospitable host . . . and a long time clique.
