6 Colours 6 Flavours

Assalamualaikum dan Selamat Sejahtera

6 Colours 6 Flavours

one of God’s entrustment
upon us
the common serfs …
one of God’s gifts
to us
the common beings …
offspring!

thank you and praise be unto you Allah
for bestowing us with this lineage …
to take care of as a heritage
so that they may not be misled …
so that there be nothing faulty and distorted
so that everything is firmly rooted …

6 colours 6 flavours
the apples of our eyes
three heroes and three heroines
perfectly paired to begin
guys and gals in consecutive order
well arranged like bouquets of flowers …
and amongst the pairs
a two year grace persist …
how possible is this occurrence
take no trouble to question
the power of God is the concurrence!

the first child’s a guy so dear
1977 is his birth year
Along he is called for being the eldest
he must of course be of the best behaviour
without any fear or favour!
as a toddler he was asthmatic prone
kneecaps knocking as he toddles alone!
now, wow wee!
how you’ve grown
throwing weights around to your liking
always angry with the siblings
at loggerheads in most of your dealings …
Malay ethics you must abide with greater concern
even though you’re more of a mamak in appearance!

the second child is a lady
Kak Ngah is her title
conferred by the family
dearly loves the fauna kind
towards mankind one has yet to define
if she has ever shown such an incline!
indifferently untidy in her younger days
amazingly has now grown graceful in many ways …
1978 is her birth year
ala Chindian in looks that’s so clear …
housekeeping and decorating is her forte
but in chores of the kitchen she is not!
come to time management she lacks integrity …
last minute rush jobs features ever so frequently!

1980 is his year of birth
Bang Lang (Bangla?) fills the third child berth
the nerd youngster of the family
never stops with numbers and figures
for reasons unknown will sometime turn serious …
a smart guy since his early days
likes to imitate many a corporate ways
with poetic songs he is interestingly easy
once broke a chair like JR did in Dynasty
when speaking must let the voice be heard
otherwise it will hang by the throat!
fortunately the ear is not bad of hearing
after, a red ant went in a strolling, thence remember
and it ‘sounds like a breakdown car!’ in your ear

a year later Kak Uda was born
1981 had a tale of its own
the doctor said, ‘better do without her’
purportedly for the sake of the mother …
‘what nonsense’ yours sincerely retorted
doc, you’re just making things disorientated!
ultimately thanks God and praise be unto you
the child grows without much ado
and what a great climber this fourth child is
even the boys are no match at this!
the frail bodyline she complained as fat on sight
that ‘kaur’ look she just cannot hide
house chores she managed quite satisfactorily
but alas she’s number one come to surveying the country!

the year 1983 was quite a special one
that’s the year the fifth child was born

a boy … and history was created …
being the one and only not wanting to be delivered
at any hospital
he might have felt that the house is just as suitable!
Grandpa Anjang was incidentally the muezzin thence
through whom the nickname ‘Wak’ to date sticks man …
wow how you’re adored by every member of the clan!
quite a wet blanket when he was small
mumbles and grumbles over anything at all
but now having grown up tends to act rather silly
disturbing freely every kin of the family
and when corrected will pull a face instantly!

a plumber she can be, an electrician is also possible
banking she can handle, spending she’s just as capable!
1984 is her year of birth
of the siblings she’s the youngest
a little pampered she will of course be!
weirdly temperamental though as a baby
will insist on going home upon entering unfamiliar zones
but is rather outspoken now that she has grown
that laser-sharp tongue may be hard to condone!
she however possesses this special ability
to do a man’s job while remaining a lady
being in control of things under her charge
be it animals or human beings by and large
staring through the corners of eyes that bulge!

6 colours 6 flavours
brightens up many a colourful environment
deep down the soul compartment
6 colours 6 flavours
enlivens many a life with meanings
through the arena of feelings …
finally let’s deem this piece of writing
as a satirical comedy or something …
and thus let it be
as only Allah is the Almighty
