First impression rules!

Friday 24 June 2022. I was just about to take a short rest at d’ SUARANG that afternoon when my mobile rang. There was a call from my daughter Mazlyna. She wanted to know whether I’d be interested to accompany her to her children educational tuition centre (KUMON) that afternoon. My spouse Alimah who took the call had confidently replied on my behalf with a definite “Yes”.

All said I accompanied Mazlyna to the tuition centre which was just next door to a cafe. Some kind of a modern hipster’s joint! I looked at the signage of that cafe. It reads MERAKI Jelatek.

Catchy name I thought. It does not take me long to decide to step inside for a closer feel of the atmosphere promised. Yes, I need the short rest here to replace that which I’ve forgo at d’ SUARANG just now!

On going inside I noticed the clean floor, the artistically decorated walls and the correct-sized tables and chairs suitably arranged. Utensils for the eateries were carefully lined out on the kitchen counter ready for use.

All these brings out the cosiness of the place and the relaxing ambience one would expect from such a surrounding. One could also hear some soothing piped music being fed into the room.

The food were nourishing enough. The price is affordable. Top and foremost the serving team was very well mannered and helpful.

Being a first-timer at MERAKI Jelatek (which has just started operation about 5 months ago)I thought I would like to come more often to this place to taste the delicacies served.

Today I am privilege to know and to come into contact with several capable and amiable personalities namely Ashraf, Amirul, Nazmi and of course the lady founder of the cafe Karen Tony. She fits in well as the living example of the iron lady influencer @ the tauke of the amicable team. She also has a 7 years experience in tiffin carrier trading.
