Pros n Cons

Assalamualaikum and Greetings

A Brief Encounter

That . . .

Top of the world feeling

Yeah, when you have your grandchildren around you. When they are behaving ok, that is!

You are happy. . . they are happy, everyone's happy.

Azim Muqry Basrie (Amb)

Umar Ilham Majid (Uim)

d proud n happy grans

Thank you Allah for allowing this . . . top of d world feeling . . . to bloom.

Thanks too for presenting us (d grans) with these wonderful set of kids . . . who are capable of adding imaginative colours and flavours to the creation of an aesthetic feel in the mood of d grans life.

Summing up . . . simply fantastic!

{To be continued}
{Look out for d continuation to this entry . . .}

Assalamualaikum and Greetings

Another Brief Encounter

{A continuation to yesterday's brief encounter. The other side of 'Simply Fantastic', that is.}

Dwelling on the subject . . . d proud n happy grans supervising obedient and well-disciplined grandchildren.

Oh yeah, everything is fine when everything goes according to what one wishes or according to things scheduled or planned.

But . . . when d chips are down . . .

Oh no! . . . What happens when these grandchildren start to 'misbehave' or go against d establishment's standard rules and procedures?

When they display mostly 'negative' skills and qualities . . . what will be d grans standard reaction to such actions?

What stand would be taken and what would the approach be like?

What can d grans do to handle such a situation when it occurs?

Run amok and create more havoc? No way!

Adopt a stand of avoiding more mayhem and start believing in d cliche . . . join em when you can't beat em!

Boost d kids ego and (d grans) suffer in silence!

That was exactly what yours sincerely did on occasions more than once. And, and d outcome of those actions?

We became d best of buddies (d grandchildren and d grans). Sharing common interests (of misbehaving at times) . . . he, he.
Purely pragmatic. Just being realistic.

Like what d Northerners used to say:

Small meta (matter). Toksah serabut kepala.

D weda (weather) is klia (clear). Sementara tak ubah cuaca . . . bulih kat hampa la (cucu-cucu Tok Wan) tugeda (together) dok panjat kepala! (ngada-ngada . . . le tu)!

And this omputih neighbour of mine pun tak mahu ketinggalan . . . Dia komen jugak:

Take your pick. Nip in the bud, now . . . or . . . Stick-in-the-mud, later!

Gelak gelak teman pun . . . teman paham le . . . mike camna . . . ate, kome pulak bagi mana gamaknya?

Still . . . in whatever condition and for whatever reason . . . thank you Allah for your priceless bestowal.

Alhamdulillah.
