Assalamualaikum and Greetings
He did what he did . . .

He did what he did . . .
Sorry Germany's football fans (including those who must now be claiming to be 'not that fanatical lah') . . . But, Paul the Oracle Octopus did it again! He correctly predicted that the Germans will taste defeat at the hands of the Spaniards in the 2010 World Cup semi-final. (And, he did that in style after being accused of featuring in a superimposed shoot earlier.)
By now, the increasingly famous Octopus (even my mother-in-law has heard quite a bit about the celebrity and taken a liking to him!) defined as cephalopod mollusc of family Octopodidae, with eight suckered arms around mouth must have lost much affection and love from most if not all of Germany's fans.
Sorry too to those who wished to see a repeat of the 1974 World Cup final. Then it was between Germany and Netherlands. And Germany won. Enough is enough. Let us see some change now. Let us witness a new World Cup final match. And let us have a new champion. after all neither Spain nor Netherlands have had the honour of being Champion in the World Cup Football Competition. And, hopefully the World Cup Finals of 2010 will be remembered as one of the more exciting in the series . . . more so this is the first time the finals is being staged on the African continent.
Yes, no way Paul is to be blamed. Paul should not be put at fault. He is trying his best to redeem himself, he he. He just wanted to play fair and be non bias. Remember he did predicted wrongly at the Euro Cup Finals of 2008. Paul in that instance predicted victory for Germany against Spain in the final match. But the result went the other way round!
After having predicted correctly now, (what more if it is to be taken seriously that figuratively an octopus is emblematic of an organized and usually harmful ramified power or influence!), my only worry is . . . Paul ending up in the wrong hands, at the wrong end! In the hands of unscrupulous gamblers . . . or in the frying pan or the cooking pot, just like the fate which befell the six birds in a popular Malay nursery rhyme (and later song) "Lagu Tiga Kupang". That would be a shame . . . and of course . . . a waste of talent!
Who knows Paul could be put to better use . . . predicting success and peace in the Palestine cause for instance or forecasting a more peaceful situation and a better future for the world!
Happy forecasting Paul. Only God knows!
